Climbing Back Up The Google Search Returns For Learn SEO

Do to a huge amount of inactivity on the blog, x7SEO has dropped to page 10 for the primary search term “Learn SEO”.  My secondary search term “SEO Tips” isn’t even in the top 20 returns on Google.   I used to be front page and second page.

But alas, no fresh content means I am skipping the heart of SEO in the eyes of Google.  How do I regain my once coveted front page rank for my primary search term?  I have to work it old school which means fresh content, relevant content and the proper use of keywords both in titles and in content.

Yes, contrary to popular belief, one can use primary search terms and keywords in the title and text of your page and not stuff them or other wise abuse the system and get good results. It is just a matter of thinking about what you are writing and using proper sentence structure and good old fashioned writing.  Oh and please….. write for people, not for bots.

So with that being said…. let’s see how long it takes for this blog or one of it’s pages to get back on the front page of the Google search return for the primary search term of “Learn SEO”.

What are your techniques for regaining your search rankings?

From 600 to 14 on Google Video – Still Good SEO

It has been over a year since I first posted my video on how I took a trucking industry website from 600 to 14 in 100 days on Google.  I watched the video again yesterday and found that even though social media has really become a powerful force in the last 18 months, the simple but effective SEO tips I offered are still very relevant.

I did not use any magic formula or some special program. It was just a very thought out process of good content, good linking, good titles and well placed directory listings.  Throw in a few press releases and soon your website starts to move up.  So for some (still) good SEO info, what How I Went From 600 to 14 on Google in 100 Days.

Please let me know what you think and what kind of SEO tips you can offer.

SEO Tip – Use Keywords In The Names Of Photos And Graphics

Published by seo77 under SEO Tips, learn seo

This is a simple SEO tip will help your website to be found my more searchers.  When you add a photo to your website, be sure to use one of your relevant keywords in the photo name.  For instance if I am placing a photo of a new radio controlled airplane on my blog about radio controlled airplanes, I would name my photo something like this:  New_Radio_Controlled_B52_Bomber.jpg

Your photo may actually rank higher on Google’s image search than on the website search itself.

Moving Up The Search Engines With No Activity

It has been 10 months since I last posted anything to x7SEO.com.  A lot of things have been going on with several large projects that have occupied almost all of my time.  But during these 10 months something interesting has happened.  This website has moved to the front page of Google for the search term “learn seo”.   x7SEO.com had been bouncing around between 20 and 40 for quite a while but now it is showing up on the front page…. number 6 in fact.   I am curious how this and subsequent postings will affect this ranking and whether or not I can maintain it by writing here again.

Search Engine Optimization Is Not A Dark Art

Published by seo77 under learn seo

Contrary to what some SEO experts might say, search engine optimization is not some deep, dark and mysterious art.  What SEO is, is a study in patience and technique. It really is as simple as that.  Google and the other major search engines make it clear on what will and will not work when it comes to moving a website to the top of the returns.  We all know what those things are; fresh content, relevant content, original content, one way organic inbound links, etc….

But the most important step in the search engine optimization process is time and patience. Even though the Internet is a blazing fast method of speading the word, SEO does take time. Each step forward requires a little tweaking and monitoring the results then retweaking.  It really is a never ending cycle.  Time will be on your side when it comes to an SEO project but you must be willing to wait.  I have found in my personal experience that in order to see a website consistantly rank in the top 10 on Google, I must be willing to work at it for about 12 months.  If you are a patient person then you should do fine with your SEO efforts. Just realize what you do today may not produce fruit for another year if you are relying totally on search engine optimization to bring rankings and traffic.

What it your opinion and what has been your experience with the time factor of SEO?
