New SEO Project – DSN3G

Published by seo77 under SEO Lessons Learned

We have a new SEO challenge. I prefer to call it a challenge rather than a project. The emerging world of Out of Home Digital Signage based advertising is growing at a tremedous rate. Some even say the growth of digital signage is equal to the initial burst of the Internet if not more so. One website that is jumping into the highly competative online mix is DSN3G a company that specializes in Cellular Based Digital Sign Networks.  Basically what these guys do is to set up private networks of high definition large screen monitors to run advertising. These systems can be hard wired with a traditional router/cable setup or as DSN3G is doing, by a wireless cellular connection.

The challenge is to take this website from obscurity on the web to a top rank on Google, Yahoo and MSN. The primary search terms will be:

  • cellular digital signs
  • cellular digital signage
  • cellular based digital sign advertising
  • celluar digital advertising
  • cellular sign advertising

As I have mentioned in past postings, a blog has been set up during the development of the DSN3G.com website to support the site.  The blog is located at http://www.todaysdigitalsignage.blogspot.com/ and will be an informational blog about digital signage and cellular digital signage in particular that will link back to the website.

We will NOT be paying for inbound links nor position on any of the search engines.  We believe the best backlink is an organic link and the content to be added to the site should be of high enough quality to attract unsolicited inbound links.

So with that said we are giving ourselves 6 months to be at the top of Google, Yahoo and MSN (read top ten postion). We will give periodic postings on x7SEO.com about the progress of this challenge.

The Importance of Proper Page Titles and SEO

Published by seo77 under SEO Lessons Learned

Proper page titles are essential for effective SEO. Too many times shortcuts are taken and a page it titles haphazardly which can do more harm than good. Choosing the proper page title is one of the most important factors there is in SEO. The page title should be no more than 64 characters long and it must be relevant to that particular page. Each pages title should be different and spell out exactly what that page is about.

Put the most relevant keywords at the front of the page title and be sure those keywords are focused and page oriented.  Google looks at the location of the keywords and takes into consideration the words around the primary keyword.

Often times when a website links to you they will use the text in the page title. This is another reason to choose your title wording carefully.  One way unsolicited links to your site are the best links you can have coming in……many times these links will be based on your page title.

Page titles are also used as the default title when a website or webpage is bookmarked. Unless the title of the bookmark is changed when it is saved it will use the title automatically.

Focus on the title and make it relevant to the page.
